A new Tank Gauging System with the newly developed Rosemount 5900 Radar Level Gauge is launched. The Rosemount 5900 is the first radar gauge to incorporate 2-in-1 technology, which enables the Rosemount 5900 to work simultaneously as an Automatic Tank Gauge (ATG) and as a sensor in an independent Automatic Overfill Prevention System (AOPS) to enable redundant level measurements or to achieve independent safety and level measurement systems.

The Rosemount 3051S Electronic Remote Sensor (ERS)™ System is launched. The ERS Systems provide DP Level measurements by calculating differential pressure from individual pressure readings. This solution eliminates the need for long capillaries and heat tracing, reducing response time by up to 90%.

The Rosemount 2140, the world’s first wired HART vibrating fork level detector, is launched to the market. That same year, the Rosemount 5408 Non-Contacting Radar Level Transmitter is launched to the market. Thanks to the Fast-Sweep Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) Technology, which deploys a continuous echo to maximize radar signal strength, the Rosemount 5408 provides more robust and reliable measurement. Besides, the radar is safety-certified, so it’s the ideal choice for functional safety, such as overfill prevention, and supports long proof-test intervals.
