Potassium Chloride (Potash) is a salt found naturally and abundantly in old sea-beds. Salt rock is received and stored in big silos while waiting to move into the production process. It is difficult to assess the true inventory of salt rock remaining in silos due to irregular shapes and dusty material. Operators must continuous monitor how much material is on-hand to ensure salt supply to the brine making process, which is essential for the production of potash.
