Level Measurement in Gypsum Bins at Coal-Fired Power Plants
Accurately measure gypsum levels in storage bins despite irregular material conditions.
Gypsum is a by-product of the flue gas desulfurization which can then be sold as a commodity. Depending on the facility, the gypsum could be stored in large silos or in large piles on the ground. In both situations, it is important to know the amount of gypsum as it is produced, but irregular surfaces can make accurate measurement a challenge.
