Combined heat and power plants enable the more efficient use of fuel or heat, which is crucial in times of energy transition. In the cogeneration process, the heat from electricity generation is put to some productive use, rather than simply being wasted. CHP plants may use natural gas for diversified power generation, with the benefit of low CO2 emissions. The plant’s gas turbine is at the heart of its operations and must be continuously monitored by flow meters, and if mechanical devices are applied, they may bring with them the challenge of frequent maintenance that halts production. A measurement solution was required that would provide reliable data on the natural gas mass flow, enable optimal turbine control and reduce maintenance-related production stops
