High Pressure Chemical Injection

The best way to mitigate risks in chemical injection skids

Chemical Injection is a process in the Oil & Gas industry where a chemical is injected into a crude line with the purpose of preventing coagulation of crude and natural gas products, or hydrate plugs, within the piping as the product is moved throughout the well head or reservoir system. Hydrate plugs are a result of pressure and temperature solidifying the unrefined product within the pipeline. Chemical injection can be costly depending on process and location, whether off-shore or on-shore. Specialty chemicals, such as wax inhibitor, scale inhibitor or Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG) inhibitors are injected at a higher pressure than the product flow pressure through the liquid line to prevent hydrate plugging. Due to the high cost of specialty chemicals, it is crucial to control the amount injected into process. Micro Motion Coriolis technology has the highest accuracy for the precise measurement needed in chemical injection due to the wide range of pressure and line sizes available.
