Flow Measurement for Pulp Stock Flow

Reduce risk of decreased paper strength and save costs in pulp and paper production
Flow Measurement for Pulp Stock Flow

Stable flow measurement in pulp stock flow after LCR refiner

Pulp and paper suppliers measure the total flow of pulp stock after several (LCR) Low Consistency Refiners. LCR’s buff or curl the pulp fibers to help bond the fibers together creating a much stronger paper. Suppliers can have difficulty providing uniform flow of the stock through the refiner blades and continuous uniform fiber supply to the paper machine which may lead to an unstable flow measurement. The process may be switched to manual mode to maintain the correct paper strength due to the unstable flow measurement, which increases risks of decreased paper strength and quality.

Advanced Diagnostics of the Rosemount 8700 Magnetic flow meter transmitters improves stability of the flow measurement allowing the mill to run in automatic mode decreasing operation costs. By better controlling the process, waste is reduced, and higher paper strength is consistently achieved, resulting in a high-quality paper product.
