The Sustainable Innovation Forum 2024 will meet in Baku this year on 13 and 14 November and bring together leaders from across government, science, business, finance, and civil society to address our greatest collective challenge.
On the 15th of November the Hydrogen Transition Summit is part of the Climate Action Innovation Zone and is the largest and longest-running hydrogen event at COP.

Returning for its fifth edition at COP29, the Hydrogen Transition Summit forms part of the Climate Action Innovation Zone and is the largest and longest-running hydrogen event at COP. The summit convenes 500 key stakeholders from across the value chain, including policymakers, investors, hydrogen producers and off-takers, tech innovators and project developers, with a shared objective of advancing hydrogen markets to support the global transition towards a low carbon economy.
This year, we will address the barriers the hydrogen transition faces and identify the innovations and cutting-edge solutions. Positioning the summit to identify breakthroughs on how we can strengthen private-public collaboration to enhance ambitions and enable action to propel the hydrogen economy for a clean energy future.

Already AI is boosting renewable deployment, enabling more efficient integration of biofeedstocks, and improving maintenance programs to ensure more resilient operations.

Michael Train was named Emerson’s first chief sustainability officer in March 2021. In this role, he leads the company’s environmental sustainability strategy, with a focus on advancing technologies and advocacy to enhance company operations and enable customer improvements through Emerson’s solutions and partnerships. He joined Emerson’s Office of the Chief Executive, which helps develop and guide the company’s global business strategies, in 2016.
Train currently serves as chair of the board of trustees at Ranken Technical College and on Cornell University’s Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management Advisory Council. He was a 2008 Eisenhower Fellowship recipient.
Train holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from General Motors Institute and a master’s degree in business administration from Cornell University.
