While most of the milled talc product is ground into a fine powder, some of the material may be pelletized to meet certain application specifications. Talc is mixed with water to form a thick paste. It is then extruded into pellets, dried, and stored in bins. Stored talc pellets will have an uneven surface and also generate some dust, making reliable inventory measurement a challenge. Installing reliable level switches helps control the emptying and filling cycles.
