Plastic tanks or IBC totes are small containers that can be used to store water or chemical additives, but also to handle and transport disposable waste. Some of the challenges that applications using IBC totes or plastic tanks can present are the lack of tank connection and the presence of corrosive media. The Rosemount 1208 Level and Flow Transmitter features non-contacting radar level measurement technology, which allows the radar waves to penetrate the plastic roof easily, so the sensor is not in contact with the media and there is no need for a tank connection. The radar sensor has a compact form and narrow FMCW 80 GHz beam angle that makes it suitable for installation in space-limited applications.
