C-Ball Valves
Advanced ball valve designs delivering performance and profitability improvements over traditional designs
A double eccentric C-ball valve is similar in principle to a conventional ball valve, but with a half ball that makes a “C” shape. This C-shaped ball rotates on two planes of motion with energy from the stem to close and seal against a fixed seat.
Emerson’s advanced AEV design provides superior sealing performance, eliminates the problematic conventional ball valve cavity and lasts longer with an open and closing action that is contactless until the point of sealing.
At close, a zero leakage metal to metal seal is formed by cam effect, one full order of magnitude greater than the prevailing industry standard (BS6364), assuring an ultra tight mechanical seal.
Sealing energy is transmitted through the stem and against a fixed seat, eliminating the need for lipseals, springs, or dynamic seals. This results in superior, reliable, uniform sealing performance at high and low pressures in an inherently fire safe design.
