Roxar Rapid Adaptive Measurement™
Embedded Software for the Roxar™ 2600 Multiphase Flow Meter provides trustworthy real-time adaptive measurement in dynamic multiphase flow
Rapid Adaptive Measurement is the embedded software for the Roxar 2600 Multiphase Flow Meter. The software utilises automated module selection at 10 Hz calculation speed, supporting automation in the field and ensuring optimised measurements at any given moment. With this innovative approach, operators can be confident of enhanced meter performance, increased robustness and confidence, while enabling cost efficient, streamlined operations.
The embedded software has a modular architecture, with each module optimised for a specific flow condition. There is parallel computation of all modules, and self-calculated confidence for each module. Automated arbitrators then select the most appropriate module to be applied at any given moment. These calculations are applied to the measurement outputs at a speed of 10 Hz. This advanced innovation supports operator confidence and automation goals in the oil and gas industry.
The Roxar 2600 Multiphase Flow Meter has Rapid Adaptive Measurement core software as standard. This comprehensive, innovative software includes seamless 0-100% GVF measurement or "One Mode", parallel computation, embedded PVT engine, basic alarms and diagnostics and adaptive density measurement. Significant automation is included, reducing hands-on requirements, offering the operator efficient metering, while also providing confidence and robust, reliable measurement.
This optional, value-adding feature expands on the embedded PVT feature included within the core software package, in two ways. If using gas lift as an assisted recover method, this feature offers operators the ability to quickly and efficiently re-combine the hydrocarbon composition, based on the ratio between produced gas and lift gas. In addition, two additional flashing stages are offered to allow operators to easily compare results to test and bulk separator results, for example.
There are two aspects to this optional, value-adding feature; advanced alarms, and layer compensation. The alarms included provide in-situ verification of the flow, the sensors and the calculations, offering hightened confidence to the operator. The layer compensation functionality first detects the presence of a layer within the meter, then compensates for the effect of the layer, ensuring robust measurement even in the most challenging conditions.
The Roxar 2600 Multiphase Flow Meter is offered with a modular design, meaning operators can select the modules appropriate to meet their measurement needs and metering philosophy. The meter is available with and without the gamma density measurement system, giving the operators the flexibility they need. Full range non-gamma capabilities are available, suitable for wide range of flow conditions and applications.
The Roxar 2600 MPFM Performance Monitoring service is fully compatible with Roxar Rapid Adaptive Measurement. This provides efficient remote support and analysis of MPFM data, ensuring optimum meter performance. The Emerson experts also provide the operator with confidence that they are taking advantage of the insights the multiphase flow meter data provides, and that early, proactive notification is provided, should any actions be required.
As oil and gas operators worldwide adjust their production methodologies and target more challenging reservoirs, the flow profiles from the wells are becoming significantly more varied and dynamic, and the demands on the instrumentation increase. To address these demands in multiphase measurement, Emerson restructured how the Roxar 2600 Multiphase Flow Meter now processes sensor signals, self-verifies calculation modules and automatically selects the best-suited measurement modes at any given moment. This ensures that operators receive reliable oil, water and gas measurement, without the need for frequent reconfiguration, even in the most challenging field conditions.
The adaptive density measurement feature has been introduced within the Rapid Adaptive Measurement embedded software for the Roxar 2600 Multiphase Flow Meter, to ensure performance with the highest possible stability and reliability in flow regimes with high gas fractions, or when the flow is slugging and sees such conditions periodically.
At different pressures and temperatures, the interaction between the oil, water and gas phases of the multiphase flow constantly changes. An extensive PVT calculation engine is now embedded within the Roxar 2600 Multiphase Flow Meter flow computer software, which supports several equations of state models and property libraries, ensuring volumes are correct as pressures and temperatures change.
Layer detection and compensation features are built into the embedded software of the Roxar 2600 Multiphase Flow Meter to protect the integrity, reliability and robustness of the measurement results provided by the Roxar 2600 Multiphase Flow Meter.
