Level Measurement in Coal Bunkers at Coal-Fired Power Plants
Accurately measure levels of stored coal despite the dusty, large-volume conditions in bunkers and blending facilities.
In coal bunkers and coal blending facilities, the coal goes through a moderate grinding process before being stored. Coal bunkers can contain thousands of tons of material. Their size and the dusty conditions make it difficult to accurately measure the amount of coal in the bunker or blending facility. There are also safety risks to personnel who enter the storage areas to “guesstimate” levels.
