Polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) are thermoplastic polymers created from the polymerization of ethylene and propylene, which are products of petrochemical plants. They are two of the most commonly produced plastics with a multitude of applications. After production, the final granular product is stored in silos before being shipped to plastic product manufacturing plants or packed in bags. The key application challenge is that PP and PE pellets have a low dielectric constant. Guided wave and non-contacting radar technologies perform expertly and reliably under these conditions.
