Dry corn is dropped into the steeping bins up to a set level before liquid is added. The dusty, dried corn moves rapidly into the tall steep tanks, making measurement a challenge. The level of the incoming corn must be accurately measured to prevent overfilling and to allow space for addition of steeping liquid. The measurement device must be able to measure both dry and liquid stages of the mixture.
