Cocoa powder (as a final product) is stored in silos for both bulk shipping and bagging. The fine, heavy powder is prone to clogging and sticking to the inside of the vessel. Accurate level tracking of the cocoa material in the silos is crucial to ensure efficient delivery from the production process, through storage silos, and on to bulk deliveries or bagging. Measurement instrumentation must be capable of withstanding dusty environments and media buildup. Non-contacting measurement technology is often preferred since this is often more accurate in these challenging environments.
