Level Measurement for Coal and Coke Storage in Metal Ore Processing
Accurately measure levels in coal and coke silos to prevent furnace shutdowns
Coal is stored in silos that feed the coke oven which then feeds the coke to the furnace. There will be at least one silo for each furnace. Coke may be mixed with ore in the sintering process. If the coal silos are empty, the furnace would need to be shut down. As the fuel is critical for the process, end-users need to control and monitor the actual level in the silos, to prevent process stoppage.
