There are many dangerous areas within a refinery as combustible gases and other safety hazards exist. Explosive concentrations of catalyst dust can accumulate. Handling coked catalyst can result in fire if iron sulfide ignites spontaneously. If too much oxygen enters the sweetening process, fire may occur due to static electricity generation in the settler. And any combustible gas leaks can start fires if an ignition source is found. Flame detection is critical to help protect personnel and prevent catastrophic consequences. The Rosemount 975HR Multi-Spectrum Infrared Hydrogen Flame Detector is specifically designed for the detection of hydrocarbon and hydrogen flames. It detects hydrocarbon-based fuel and gas fires at long distances with a high immunity to false alarms. The Rosemount 975HR Flame Detector is a durable and weather resistant hydrogen flame detector. This flame detector includes a heated window to eliminate condensation and icing, HART™, lower power requirements and a compact lighter design.

The Rosemount 975MR Multi-Spectrum Infrared Flame Detector accurately analyzes the multi-spectral signals of hydrocarbon gas or liquid fires by utilizing four separate IR sensors. The 975MR detects fuel and gas fires at long distances. For example, this product will detect a 1 ft2 (0.1m2) gasoline pan fire at 300 ft (90 m). The 975MR also provides a high immunity to false alarms and enhanced overall coverage range.
