Gas & Flame Detection at Well Pad Production Sites

Oil and gas well pad production sites contain a mixture of high pressure combustible, toxic and corrosive elements, creating a multitude of potential leak sources. Well pads are often located in remote locations with limited infrastructure, making it difficult to use conventional detection methods for real-time monitoring of combustible or toxic gases. Releases from pressurized gas wells are difficult to detect as air currents can move the gas away from the leak source and conventional gas detectors. If not detected early, these flammable vapors and gases increase the risk of fire or explosions which can occur without warning.
