Control magazine recently asked several automation experts including Claudio Fayad, vice president of technology of Emerson’s process systems and solutions business, to share their thoughts on mobility and edge computing in the automation industry. Fayad talked about edge computing being a growing topic because it offers ways to redesign onsite computing nodes on the OT and IT sides and enhance connectivity and sensing, including wireless and increased mobility. He went on to share his thoughts on cybersecurity and using a zero-trust strategy.
