Emerson Takes Next E360 Forum to North Carolina

SIDNEY, Ohio, Feb. 14, 2017 – Emerson (NYSE: EMR) announced it will host its next E360 Forum in Raleigh, N.C., on Wednesday, March 1, to offer industry insights, regulatory updates, next steps to achieve compliance and emerging trends in equipment and applications.

 

The forum will open with a general session featuring a panel discussion, Making Sense of the Latest Rulemaking on Acceptable Refrigerants. The panel discussion will be led by Dr. Rajan Rajendran, vice president, system innovation center and sustainability, Emerson; Dr. Samuel Yana Motta, director of technology, Honeywell International; Dr. Charles Allgood, technology leader, refrigerants, Chemours; and Matt Ritter, global business director, fluorochemicals, Arkema. Following the panel discussion, Cold Chain Evolution will be presented by Dean Landeche, vice president of marketing, Retail Solutions, Emerson.

 

The afternoon will feature eight sessions broken out into two categories: applications and regulations. Some of the topics covered in the afternoon include:  

  • Utilizing Digital Retrofits to Achieve Capacity Modulation (Applications track) – Tim Uderman, lead technical sales manager, Emerson, and Rob Southwood, director of sales, Emerson, will highlight the advantages of retrofitting supermarket refrigeration racks with a digital compressor to serve as the lead compressor and the application of compressor modulation to improve case temperature precision and reduce compressor cycling.
  • Achieving Department of Energy (DOE) Compliance in Commercial Refrigeration Equipment (Regulations track) – Brian Buynacek, senior refrigeration engineer and marketing consultant, Emerson, will take a look at the significant DOE-mandated reductions in energy consumption on commercial refrigeration equipment and how OEMs can achieve compliance, including an overview of DOE test standards and steps to complete certification.
  • CO2 Booster Systems From a Service Mechanic’s Perspective (Applications track) – Andre Patenaude, director, CO2 business development, Emerson, will discuss the significant increase in CO2 booster system adoption and the key servicing considerations of a CO2 booster system, including: low critical point, high triple point and high pressure. In addition, Andre will present strategies for dealing with standstill pressures, from managing pressure reliefs and power outages to mitigating risks.

The E360 Forum is part of the company’s broader initiative to create a meaningful HVACR industry dialogue. The E360 platform provides a number of resources designed to offer interested parties a 360-degree view of commercial refrigeration issues and advancements by addressing energy efficiency, equipment reliability and safety, environmental protection and economic considerations.
