D. Scott Barbour

Business Leader, Emerson Network Power (Systems)

Scott Barbour was appointed an Emerson executive vice president and the business leader of Emerson Network Power’s systems group in 2011. The systems group provides precision cooling, AC and DC power systems, integrated racks and enclosures, power switching and controls, and comprehensive services for telecommunication networks, data centers, and health care and industrial facilities around the world. Emerson Network Power overall posted global sales of $6.4 billion in fiscal 2012.  

Barbour began his career at Emerson as a program manager in 1989 and held increasingly responsible positions at Emerson’s Copeland Corporation including product planner, residential market manager, and director and vice president of air conditioning marketing. In 1998 he became a Copeland executive vice president and later was named general manager of the air conditioning business. In 2003, he was named president of that business. In 2008, Barbour became president of Emerson Climate Technologies-Asia Pacific and was named an Emerson group vice president in 2010.

Barbour attended Southern Methodist University where he received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He also attended Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management where he received a master’s degree in business administration.
