Freeing Up Capacity

In addition to energy savings, Energy Logic's actions have a dramatic effect on power, cooling and space capacities.

In its unoptimized state, the data center model used to develop Energy Logic required nearly 5,000 square feet of space. After implementing the Energy Logic actions, only 1,788 square feet was required — that's a savings of 65 percent. Most importantly, the compute capacity has remained the same.

In addition to freeing-up space, the Energy Logic actions also resulted in increased available capacity of power and cooling resources. The actions saved the equivalent of two 250 kVA UPS units — 33 percent of power protection capacity — and 200 tons of cooling (that's 43 percent of the chiller load.)
